Microsoft agree with Apple: HTML5 is the future

Yesterday the internet was full of Steve Jobs and his opinion on the Flash, HTML5 and the future of the web, well now Microsoft has followed suit and appear to be agreeing with him.

Dean Hachamovitch who is the General Manager for Internet Explorer gave Microsofts opinion yesterday.

“The future of the web is HTML5. Microsoft is deeply engaged in the HTML5 process with the W3C. HTML5 will be very important in advancing rich, interactive web applications and site design. The HTML5 specification describes video support without specifying a particular video format. We think H.264 is an excellent format. In its HTML5 support, IE9 will support playback of H.264 video only.”

Personally we think this is great, we love developing websites using the latest standards and technology. The sooner HTML5 comes about the better! Then we can start creating more and more interesting and unique designs.

Now we are interested in what Adobes response/defence will be.
