Property Search Added to Google Maps!

Google has added a brand new spanking home searching option to Google Maps. The new addition allows users to search for properties across the country by price, bedrooms, bathrooms and property type.

The new addition has arrived in the UK after months of testing and is said to replicate a similar service in Australia.

A spokeswoman for Google has been quoted as saying “Half of all search queries on Google have a geographical component and 80% of these are property related. It makes sense to have that on Google Maps.”

Property service groups and sites including Ezylet, Trinity Mirror’s Smart New Homes, Countrywide, Zoopla and Spicer Haart have all signed up with Google so far. However, two of the online property marketing giants Rightmove and Findaproperty are yet to be involved.

A great benefit of the new Google property search is the lack of fees! Any property aggregator or portal can add their listings for free! Where normally there would be a charge for a similar service. However, the service does not allow listings by individual vendors or sellers as yet.

Yet another example of the Google giant dominating the online marketplace, we can’t wait to see what they come up with next!
