July 13th = “Embrace Your Geekness Day”

Wellcat.com have proclaimed today, July 13th “Embrace Your Geekness Day”.

The term ‘Geek’ has different meanings to different people, but basically it is an endearing term describing a really smart individual that lacks in social skills or ‘coolness.’
I recall as a teenager that being called a geek was worse than not having a date for the prom, but as I have gotten older, I have learned enjoy my geeky tendencies. So I am embracing my love for outer space, fish, and Barry Manilow. (I’ve been told these things help qualify me as a geek)

What about you? What are you doing to embrace your inner geekiness?

The Wellcat website gives a description of the ‘holiday’ as follows:

“Embrace Your Geekness Day — Into dungeon games, comic books and doing vampire dress-up? Spend endless hours going strange places on the internet? You’re a geek, and this is the day to roar!

So if you’re into any of the above, get “roaring”!!!

However not only is it Geek day today but there’s also so much news about disgruntled workers that today is also the day for Gruntled Workers to Unite! (National gruntled workers day) Drive to a fast food restaurant and say, “Thanks, your service is fast. Have a nice day.”

And July has even more to offer with Be a Dork day on July 15th…awesome! This is the day to be a Dork and be proud.  Wear goofy clothing, don’t brush your teeth, eat yucky food, and fall off a swing set. July really is shaping up to be a fun month!
