Introducing Qwiki The Information Experience

On the 27th September Qwiki, a new information processing service, was unveiled at Techcrunch Disrupt. This new service is a revolutionary technology that will likely alter the future of online information architecture.

The concept of Qwiki is that users search a keyword, similar to doing a Google search but predominately targeted towards specific information i.e. people, places, objects or history. Qwiki then seamlessly scans its database and compiles its response into an interactive display of the information.

Qwiki merges text, audio, video, and images together into a seamless interface, generating a dynamic movie of whatever you search for. It even has a sexy futuristic voice which conveys the information as you watch the video. It really does seem like something from the future, and it’s only going to get better.

Whilst at Techcrunch Disrupt 27 teams presented their new technologies. Judges quickly whittled these down to just 7 but the winner that took the prize was indeed Qwiki and well deserved in our opinion.

In addition to $50,000 prize money they also received the Disrupt winner’s trophy. Upon receiving the cup, CEO Doug Imbruce exclaimed, “Let’s change the world!” Taking the runner-up spots are CloudFlare and Pinger, both of which were also very impressive. Check them out!
